Food additives are chemical compounds which are added to the food in
order to change its color, prolong its shelf life and make look fresher
and tastier. Some of the most common food additives
include ascorbic acid, which prevents food from spoiling, emulsifiers
and active packaging, but are they safe? Of course, all food additives
are regulated by law, which says that they are safe to consume, but is
it really so?
Chemicals, which are used as food additives in food products, are added
on purpose. In most cases, they are synthetic compounds, known to cause
negative health effects in humans. Any diet suggests avoiding toxins
consumption if you want to improve your health and lower the risks of
disease occurrence. Food additives can affect your metabolic processes,
mental concentration, behavior and even immune responses as well as
increase the risks of getting cardiovascular diseases, cancer or other
degenerative conditions. Such additives as preservatives, sweeteners,
caffeine, nitrates and sodium benzoate cause many diseases especially
in children.
The simple truth about any diet is that if you want to stay healthy,
you need to eat healthy food like fresh fruits and vegetables, lower
fat and carbohydrate consumption, take vitamin supplements and, of
course, consume a lot of water. Weight loss diet pills don’t
work
for everybody and, in most cases, are chemical compounds too, so you
are not likely to get healthier by poisoning your body with them. There
is a wide variety of different foods that are good for us, so if you
want to stay healthy, be sure to eat healthy food and avoid junk and
fast food.
